Lake Baikal is a huge ancient lake in the mountains of Siberia north of the Mongolian border. Baikal is considered the deepest lake in the world.

Arrival in Irkutsk. Meeting a guide at the airport or at the railway station of Irkutsk. City tour: historic center – eternal flame – monument to the pioneers of Irkutsk – the Moscow Gate – the monastery of Our Lady of the Sign - monument to Admiral Kolchak – Karl Marx street – monument to Alexander III of Russia – 130th quarter. Hotel accommodation. Free time.

Breakfast. 10 a.m. – transfer to the island of Olkhon by minibus (280 km, travel time is about 6 hours). Arrival in the village of Khuzhir, the tourist center of the island, mini-hotel accommodation. Late lunch. After lunch, a hike to Cape Burkhan (Shamanka rock), an abode of the main deity of Olkhon, a sacred place revered since the time of the first shamans. Dinner.

Breakfast. Today you will visit the south of Olkhon island: Cape Khorgoy where an ancient wall of the Kurykans is located and also the Buddhist Stupa of Enlightenment on the island of Ogoy. After al fresco dining you’ll be able to admire unique ice caves of Lake Baikal! Return to the hotel, dinner. On request: banya (extra pay).

Breakfast. Early morning departure by an off-road vehicle (UAZ) to the northern extremity of the island, Cape Khoboy. Stops along the way in the most interesting places, exploring ice caves and grottoes. Picnic lunch at Cape Khoboy. It is here that you can see the famous blue ice of Lake Baikal.
Next, we begin the crossing of Baikal from Olkhon island to the Barguzin Bay. We will pass the deepest and widest place of Lake Baikal along the way. Arrival in the village of Ust-Barguzin in the evening. Guest house accommodation, dinner.

Breakfast. Today the group goes for an excursion to one of the most famous places of Lake Baikal, Chivyrkuy Bay. The tour passes through picturesque places, among snow-white mountain peaks and clear ice of Lake Baikal. After lunch, you will visit a hot spring in Zmeinaya Bay where you’ll have a chance to bathe in. Evening return to the guest house. Dinner. |

Breakfast. Departure by minibus to Ulan-Ude, the road takes about 4 hours. Arrival in Ulan-Ude. Lunch. Afternoon excursion to Ivolginsky Datsan, the main Buddhism center of Russia. Boarding a train (corridor coach) to Irkutsk.

| 7 Day |
Morning arrival in Irkutsk at 7:30. Breakfast, early hotel accommodation. After having some rest, we go to Listvyanka by minibus (at about 10 a.m.). Along the way we are going to visit Taltsy, an open-air architectural and ethnographic museum. Here we can inspect old wooden buildings, learn more about the life of the Baikal region indigenous people. After Taltsy we go to Listvyanka. Lunch in one of the village cafes. Then we are going to visit the Baikal museum.
Here you will get acquainted with the underwater world of Lake Baikal. After visiting the museum, we will take the lift to the Chersky stone viewpoint which offers wonderful Baikal view. Return to the hotel.
