Day 1

December 31,  Excursion in Irkutsk and transfer to Listvyanka

After meeting at the airport you will go on a small tour of Irkutsk, one of the oldest cities of the Baikal region.  You will see the quiet snow-covered city with low-rise centre, and churches and noble mansions.  After the tour you will have lunch in the restaurant with Siberian cuisine and fragrant herbal tea.

Then you will go to Listvyanka, where you will find the first acquaintance with Baikal.  Along the way you will visit the Museum of wooden architecture "Taltsy", where you will visit an ancient village Dating back to the XVIII century, will take part in the festivities and winter fun.  You are waiting for skiing with slides on the skin, fights bags, folk songs and dances, snowballs and snowman building.

You will then continue our way to Listvyanka.  Optionally, you can climb to the observation platform "Chersky Stone", to admire the source of the Angara river flowing from lake Baikal.

Upon arrival to Listvyanka you'll be accommodated in a cozy hotel complex overlooking the lake.  Rest and get ready for new year's eve.  You will find an interesting festive program at the restaurant, unforgettable atmosphere of magic and of course the famous Baikal specialties.

Day 2

January 1,  Snowmobiling and dog sledding

On the first morning of the new year you will see a rich program of active recreation.  You ride through the snowy woods on a snowmobile.  Be fun and safe, because you will be accompanied by experienced instructors.

Then you will go on a visit to the Baikal husky at a private estate where you will see the blacksmith's craft and arrange a tea party with crumpets.  In the house there is a sled dog Center, which is home to 70 dogs participants and winners of many races in Russia.  Waiting for you dog sledding through the forest, and after lunch in the restaurant overlooking the lake.

Closer to the evening you will be transferred to the hotel restaurant.  Here you can warm up after a frosty day in a hot Siberian bathhouse with access to the source of the Angara.  Then you go back to the hotel and have dinner.

Day 3

January 2  Baikal Museum and transfer to Olkhon island

Morning after Breakfast you will go on a tour to the Baikal Limnological Museum.  You will be able to see the underwater world of lake Baikal, having a simulation dive to the bottom in the bathyscaphe.  Will see the famous residents of the lake – grayling, whitefish, Cisco and, of course, seals.

After a tour of the Museum will be moving to the island Olkhon – to the very heart of Baikal.  The path will pass through the majestic Tazheranskaya steppe.  Along the way you will stop for lunch at ethnic cafes where you will taste traditional local food: nourishing Buhler, posture, saguday.

Continuing the route, you will cross to the island by ferry or hibuse (depending on ice conditions).  Upon arrival you will be accommodated in rooms at the tourist camp and have dinner.  In the evening you can enjoy a bath.

Day 4

January 3,  Cape Burkhan and the Buryat village

On this day you will enjoy the great landscapes of lake Baikal, feel the unity with nature and imbued with the culture of the local peoples.

After Breakfast, you will go to the most famous place on lake Baikal – Cape Burkhan.  Often it is called shaman rock – since the emergence of the first shamans, this place was considered sacred.  Here you will see special columns – "Serge", symbolizing the tree of life, and learn why made knit ribbons on them.

After walking and sightseeing you expect a warm welcome in "the Buryat ethno-complexes".  This family-run mini-Museum, organized by the indigenous inhabitants of Khuzhir, where the friendly owners can arrange cooking class for the preparation of the POS, feed a delicious lunch and talk about local traditions.

You will return to base in the evening, and you will have the opportunity to capture Baykal in the last rays.

Day 5

4 Jan  Journey across a Small sea

Today you are in for a surprise: you will travel by Small sea and will see how the ice begins to tie down the lake.

After Breakfast, you will start to look for paroled in district MarketScope Bay.  You will see the first clean, transparent ice of Baikal landscapes are fascinating.  You can arrange a photo session on the ice.

After the impressions, walks and a hearty lunch you will return to Irkutsk.  Arriving in the city, you will check in hotel and rest.

Day 6

January 5  Return home

You will have Breakfast and pack up, and after you are transferred to airport for flight departure.
