The Arctic ocean
In 2008, the icebreaker "50 years of Victory" went from Murmansk to the North pole in record time, covered the distance in just 4 and a half days.
Ice conditions are unpredictable, and the transition to our new head of the goal can take up to 8 days.
The unpredictability of weather conditions fill the atmosphere of adventure of our expedition to the North pole.
Safe to say that hardly anyone will be able to forget is a kind of an icebreaker, breaking the powerful Arctic ice.

North pole
This time of year there is usually good weather (air temperature 0 – 1°C).
As soon as the ship reaches the North pole 90°N, we meet on the navigation bridge "50 years of Victory" to celebrate this event.
Reaching the goal, we go down to the ice.
Celebrating reaching the pole includes a polar picnic on the ice.
The most courageous can plunge into the waters of the Arctic ocean.
Using a special satellite you will be able to connect with civilization - "call a friend from the North pole"). |
Day 7-8
|
Heading South
Despite the fact that the main goal of our expedition is achieved, we will have a lot of interesting things.
Our icebreaker keeps moving, breaking ice ridges and thick ice.
The appearance of white Arctic gulls tells us about the approach of the earth... On the way back if weather permits and the ice, we can visit some of the spectacular Islands of the archipelago Franz - Joseph. |
Day 9-11
|
The Archipelago Of Franz-Joseph
80° North – the world of the multi-year pack ice, towering volcanic mountains, icebergs and glaciers.
A large part of the archipelago, opened in 1873 by an Austrian expedition on the ship "Tegetthof", still remains relatively unexplored.
If weather and ice conditions will not prevent our forwarding plans, we enter into a Quiet Bay to enjoy rock Roubini – place the "floor" of the numerous colonies of nesting Arctic birds.
On the coast, if it is not hidden from us by the fog, we see the buildings of the abandoned research station and several huge glaciers.
The territory of the archipelago favored by polar bears and walruses – here are the chances of meeting them.
Walruses look very impressive, and touching the behavior of polar bears sometimes makes you forget about the predatory nature of these animals.
Surprisingly, polar bears are often curious come to the Board, thus giving us the opportunity for unique photos.
We also plan to visit Cape Norway where in 1896-97 he wintered Nansen and Johansen after an unsuccessful attempt to reach the North pole. |
