			| DAY 3
						 | LAKE AYA –
  CHUYSKY TRAKT
After breakfast, we will depart by Chuysky Trakt
Highway heading south, in the direction of the Mongolian border. According to
The Guardian, this is one of ten
most picturesque highways in the world! In ancient times, the valley where Chuysky
Trakt is now located was the way for Tatar-Mongolian troops led by legendary Genghis
Khan. It was also a path for many nations who supposedly migrated here. There
are now many things left reminding about this: ancient carvings, mysterious
tomb stones, and various structures built long time ago. There are a lot of
interesting sites to stop along Chuysky Tract: streaming murmuring rivers,
hills, rocks with ancient carvings. Almost along the whole way, there are picturesque
rivers and nice views. If time permits, we will visit a bison farm. We will go
through the Seminsky Pass and especially beautiful Chike-Taman Pass, where
will definitely make a photo stop.
We will have our lunch in the Uch-Enmek National Park, and along the way
there we will see the ancient burial mounds.

After breakfast, we will drive even further along
the Chuysky Trakt, to the areas totally untouched by civilization. We will
see the picturesque geyser lake that bears a turquoise color and will also see
the Chuya Alps’ snow peaks! The Chuya
Alps are part of the Altai mountain range, straddling the border of
Russia and Kazakhstan close to the region where their borders and those of
China and Mongolia meet. They have an average altitude of about 9000 ft
with summits ranging from 11,500 to 12,000 ft. There are about ten
glaciers found on the northern part of their slopes. They are named after the
  Chuya River.
